COCA-COLA SAMPLE TWO NEW FLAVOURS AT VENDEX MIDLANDS

Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) will be sampling two new flavours at this year’s Vendex Midlands.

Fanta Raspberry zero sugar:

The first new flavour to be sampled will be from GB’s number one flavoured carbonated soft drinks brand; Fanta. Delivering the brand new variant Fanta Raspberry zero sugar, after the success of Fanta Grape zero sugar which launched in February 2019.

Raspberry was chosen as the latest Fanta zero sugar flavour in response to consumer demand, with raspberry-flavoured products in 11%[1] volume growth in the last year.

Fanta Raspberry zero sugar, which is made with natural flavours and is Soft Drinks Tax-exempt, will be available in a 330ml can and a 500ml PET bottle for on-the-go consumption occasions, with an 8x330ml can multipack and a 2L PET bottle for future consumption.

Simon Harrison, Vice President of Commercial Development at Coca-Cola European Partners GB, said, “Over the last year we’ve added £33m[2] to the value of the Fanta brand by responding to the growing demand for flavoured carbonated soft drinks in zero sugar options and by investing in campaigns around key seasonal occasions like Halloween. This year we’ll build on the fantastic success of Fanta Grape zero sugar with the new Raspberry flavour, presenting another opportunity for retailers to maximise sales of soft drinks to new and existing shoppers.”

Diet Coke Sublime Lime:

The second new flavour to be sampled will be Diet Coke Sublime Lime. The new Sublime Lime variant will help retailers to tap into the flavoured cola segment, which is worth £227m and growing by 11%[3], by combining the iconic taste of Diet Coke with a refreshing citrus twist.

Lime is the third most liked soft drink flavour in GB[4], highlighting that the new drink presents a significant opportunity for stores to respond to consumer demand and grow their sales. The variant will be available in 330ml and 500ml plain and price-marked packs for on-the-go occasions as well as multi packs and 1.25l and 2l bottles for future consumption.

Diet Coke Sublime Lime will be the perfect addition to the Coca-Cola light flavours portfolio, which aims to satisfy a broader consumer appeal by focusing on the best performing flavours such as cherry[5], strawberry[6] and lime[7].

Harrison commented, “Combining the popularity of Diet Coke and growing demand for both flavoured and low sugar carbonates, Diet Coke Sublime Lime presents a fantastic opportunity for retailers to maximise their soft drinks sales.”
